The role holds professional nursing, clinical leadership, and operational management accountability, working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, including clinical safety, patient flow, capacity and demand management, and effective resource utilisation. The role provides leadership and oversight for cardiology patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora within the CCU and across inpatient ward settings, supporting the delivery of specialist cardiac care throughout the patient journey. The position also has responsibility for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service, providing specialist nursing support for patients preparing for cardiac surgery and follow-up care after surgery, with a focus on improving outcomes and reducing complications and readmissions.Te Tai Tokerau Cardiology is a growing specialist service supported by a dedicated inpatient cardiology team, including cardiologists, resident medical officers, nursing, and allied health staff. The service is supported by an on-site cardiac catheterisation laboratory, echocardiography services, and advanced cardiac imaging, enabling the delivery of comprehensive specialist care close to home.
