About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide clinical leadership and coordination across the Emergency Department, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing visible clinical leadership and support to nursing staff
• Coordinating the day-to-day clinical operations of the Emergency Department
• Supporting patient flow, prioritisation and timely access to care
• Providing clinical guidance and support in complex and challenging situations
• Promoting high standards of nursing practice, patient safety and quality care
• Supporting and mentoring nurses at different stages of their careers
• Contributing to staff education, professional development and capability building
• Working collaboratively with medical, allied health and other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Identifying opportunities for service improvement and contributing to quality initiatives
• Acting as a positive role model and advocate for patients, whānau and staff

About you

We are looking for an experienced ED nurse who brings strong clinical knowledge, confidence in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. You will ideally have:

• Current Registered Nurse registration and relevant nursing experience
• Significant experience (minimum of five years’) working in an Emergency Department
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate care and manage competing priorities
• A calm, supportive and approachable leadership style
• A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A passion for developing and supporting other nurses

Previous leadership, charge nurse, shift coordinator or senior nursing experience would be advantageous.
