About the Role

The Clinical midwife specialist (CMS) will be part of the senior clinical leadership team in Labour and Birthing suite.

The CMS will be the senior clinical midwife specialist for the unit and be able to clinically support the unit with excellent clinical skills and a positive communication style. This role will support the Clinical Midwife Manager be able to pivot within the unit to support and guide other clinicians.

Our unit is a 14 bed unit with two bed spaces for maternity complex care whānau. Inductions of labour will also be undertaken in the unit from 2027.

We facilitate the most complex whānau to birth here as we have our maternal fetal medicine, maternal medicine and diabetes specialist teams providing care here at Te Toka Tumai Auckland.

This is a new and exciting role adding senior clinical support and expertise to our unit.

About you

You will be an expert clinical midwife in the Labour and Birthing space have minimum of 3 years post graduate experience be enrolled or enrolling in post-graduate studies.

You will be positive and confident to guide and care for Birthing whanau and guide and support other clinicians in the Labour and Birthing suite.

You will be looking for the next step in your clinical midwifery journey with a leadership aspect.
