Applications are sought from self-motivated individuals with an attention to detail for a permanent position within the Nelson Criminal Justice Support Unit.
Tasman District CJSU provides support across the district assisting frontline staff with preparation of prosecution files, trial management and disclosures. This includes the management of disclosure (initial, full, & ongoing), liaising with OC Case, PPS, Crown and Defense agencies, and organising evidence to meet national file standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support frontline policing activities.
- Manage multiple files and competing priorities effectively while maintaining accuracy.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
- Prepare a range of prosecution files, including JAT, Jury, Formal Proof, and Traffic Infringement files.
- Analyse case information and available evidence to produce comprehensive prosecution reports that clearly outline case details, evidential considerations, and identified issues.

Utu ā-tau | Salary – External only
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $88,179 and $92,267 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
