Brewing Team Leader

Your Impact

We’re looking for a people-focused Brewing Team Leader to help lead our brewing operations at our Papakura site.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend time out in the brewery, supporting your team and keeping operations running safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You’ll lead approximately 10 operators on shift, manage rosters and performance, and work with the team to solve operational issues and identify practical improvements. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our products, including participating in tastings and sensory assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of brewing operators

• Coordinate rosters, leave cover and daily people requirements

• Set clear expectations and manage performance and development

• Maintain a visible presence across the brewery and support day-to-day operations

• Monitor safety, quality and production performance

• Identify and resolve operational issues using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys

• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects

• Work closely with maintenance, quality, planning and other production teams

• Support product quality through tastings and sensory assessments

• Maintain accurate operational records and information in relevant systems

About You

You’re a practical and approachable people leader who enjoys being close to the operation and supporting your team to perform at their best. You’ll bring a genuine interest in beer and brewing, along with a strong appreciation for product quality and consistency.

You’ll also bring:

• At least 1–2 years’ experience leading teams in brewing, FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing, dairy, or a similar production environment

• A brewing background or sound understanding of brewing operations would be highly beneficial

• Confidence managing rosters, performance, development and day-to-day people matters

• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to spend time on the floor

• Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting improvement initiatives

• A strong commitment to safety, quality and operational standards

• Confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office

• Experience using SAP would be beneficial
