About the Role
As the Associate Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be supporting the Clinical Nurse Manager with clinical coordination and leadership to ensure a safe, effective practice that supports the management of patient flow through the Mental Health services of Older People Inpatient Unit.
About the Team/Service/Location
We are a 10-bed In-patient unit at Tauranga Hospital. We are a busy unit providing acute assessment and treatment for clients presenting with acute mental health conditions alongside medical co-morbidities, dementia with behavioural and psychological conditions and palliative dementia care.
The nursing team consists of Registered and Enrolled Nurses, and Health Care Assistants. We work closely as a multidisciplinary team with our Psychiatric medical and allied health team professionals.

About You
As an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager, you will bring to the role:
- Clinical experience in mental health, preferable along with gerontological nursing
- Previous experience in ward and staff management
- Ability to apply critical thinking in changing health situations with clear communication skills
- A calm, empathetic, flexible and creative approach to person-centered care
