This role provides specialist addiction assessment, treatment, and recovery-focused support for service users/tangata whaiora and their whānau. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based interventions, manage a clinical caseload, and contribute to positive health and wellbeing outcomes through a holistic, person-centred approach.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe Community Mental Health and Addiction Service provides integrated mental health and addiction support across the Whanganui region. Out team is committed to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive services that support recovery, wellbeing, and community participation. You will work alongside skilled multidisciplinary team in a collaborative and supportive environment.For more information on living and working in Whanganui District Health Board click Whanganui - HomeAbout youTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Registration with DAPAANZ, Nursing Council, Social Work Registration Board, or another relevant professional body, with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.Experience working in the Mental Health and/ or Addiction sector.Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments, provide counselling and therapeutic interventions, and support recovery-focused care.Knowledge of addiction treatment, risk assessment, and evidence-based practice.Commitment to culturally safe practice and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Strong communication, relationship-building, and multi-disciplinary team-working skills.Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team objectives.Competent computer skills and experience with electronic clinical documentation systems.A current full New Zealand driver's license.Eligibility to undergo Police Vetting.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
