A Marketing Coordinator CV, start to finish.

Yuki Tanaka is made up, and so are the employers. The layout and the wording are what New Zealand employers expect: no photo or date of birth, the most recent job first, and every bullet showing what was done and what came of it.

Skills and keywords

What marketing coordinator job ads look for.

Use the ad's own words where they're true of you. An ATS, and a recruiter skimming, both look for them.

  • Campaign coordinationThe heart of the job. Say how many campaigns you run and across which channels.
  • Email marketingGive list size, open or click rates, or revenue. Numbers show you know what good looks like.
  • Social mediaName the channels and one result, such as follower growth or engagement.
  • Google AnalyticsAds often name it. Show you use it to report, not just log in.
  • Content calendarProof you can keep many small deadlines on track at once.
  • CMSName the one you've used if the ad does. Website updates are often part of the job.
  • StakeholdersCoordinators sit between designers, agencies, sales and stores. Show you keep them all in step.

Common mistakes

What costs marketing coordinator CVs interviews.

  • A long list of tools with no results.

Pick the tools the ad names, then show what you achieved with them: growth, revenue or time saved.

  • Writing "assisted with campaigns".

Say what you owned: the calendar, the email, the brief or the report, and what came of it.

  • No link to your work.

Marketing managers like to see examples. Offer a portfolio or add a link in your details.

  • Vague numbers like "improved engagement".

Give the before and after, even as a percentage, and the time it took.

New Zealand and Australia

What changes across the Tasman.

New Zealand

Under New Zealand's Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, marketing emails and texts need consent, must identify the sender and must include a working unsubscribe, so if you've managed that on campaigns, say so.

New Zealand CV format

Australia

Australia's Spam Act has similar rules: you need consent before sending marketing emails or texts, and every message needs an easy unsubscribe. Australian employers usually say resume rather than CV, and expect about two pages.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Something else on your mind? Email support@smartcvs.ai and a person will reply.

Should I include a portfolio?

Yes, if you can. A few campaign examples with their results say more than a paragraph. Check you're allowed to share them first.

Which marketing tools should I list?

The ones in the ad first, then the ones you use most. Keep the list short and show results with them in your bullets.

How do I show results if I didn't set the targets?

Report what changed while you ran the work: list growth, sales from a campaign, or time saved. Coordinators are judged on delivery as much as results.
